Meet Jennie Peterson, PMHNP-BC

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner | Certified in Addiction Medicine

With a deep passion for mental health and addiction recovery, I’ve dedicated my career to helping individuals overcome challenges and reclaim their lives. I believe in meeting people where they are, recognizing that no two journeys are the same. My approach is rooted in genuine connection, holistic care, and evidence-based treatment.

My Journey & Expertise

I began my nursing career after graduating Magna Cum Laude from Oregon Health Sciences University in 1998. My early years were spent in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Legacy Emanuel Children’s Hospital, where I provided critical care to young patients and their families. Later, I transitioned into hospice care, reinforcing my ability to offer empathy and support to individuals during life’s most vulnerable moments.

In 2012, I pursued my passion for psychiatric nursing, joining the Addiction Recovery Program at the University of Alabama in Birmingham (UAB) while earning my master’s degree. I later led UAB’s addiction consult service, providing outpatient care and medication management for individuals with co-occurring psychiatric conditions. Returning to my Oregon roots, I continued my work at The Center of Excellence in Co-Occurring Medicine, specializing in addiction recovery and mental health treatment.
